I believe finding community is very important for many individuals. Having a sense of belonging and connection is such a heartfelt feeling which is why I made a song about it. Growing up in different environments, I found it hard to find communities especially being very shy. But once I started coming out of my shell, I finally found people who supported me in many different ways. I am very lucky to have many supportive communities in my life. It might take time to find the right community but you have to believe you WILL find your group of people. It might be a long process but it is a very rewarding one. You might lose some along the way but that is a part of the process of finding the right one. A community I am very grateful to have is my AO community. Being accepted into this program gave me new friends, mentors, and support systems. Access Opportunity is the reason why I was able to make it into college let alone finish my first year. A couple of the other communities I appreciate would be my friends and my family. They both taught me the importance of unity and being myself which shaped me into the person I am today. Remember you are worth the best and even more. You will find the people you can call home.
Gloria was one of Access Opportunity's Student Ambassadors throughout the 2023-24 school year.
