Communications & Development Coordinator | Boulder, CO

As a member of our development team, you will take satisfaction in fundraising for an organization where donor dollars make a true and lasting impact. You will work alongside a team that believes there should be equity in opportunity for all students.
This role gives you a chance to advance Access Opportunity’s mission and create meaningful impact in the lives of both donors and AO students.
Responsibilities
Communications
-
Support the Development Director in strategic planning for Communications, to share the story of our mission, programs, and impact in order to motivate others to engage and invest in us.

Write communications and contribute to grant applications, newsletters, packets for donors, direct appeal letters, reports, press releases, and other materials.

Manage social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and other community-building and public relations efforts.

Coordinate the production of the Annual Report, and contribute content.

Track, create, and ensure regular updates to Communications materials, including website, blog, impact statistics and infographics, information packets, and any other written materials.
Development
-
Support the Development Director to grow and retain individual, corporate, and foundation contributions, including owning the process that tracks and acknowledges giving in a timely manner.

Coordinate giving campaigns, such as the annual Colorado Gives drive, including being involved in planning for campaigns and executing logistics.

Manage recurring giving platforms, including a process to grow, retain, and acknowledge these givers.

Coordinate volunteer engagement program.

Help coordinate donor interactions with team and students, including meetings and events.
Additional Responsibilities
-
Manage information systems that support Communications and Development activities, including website builders, email messaging systems, and customer relationship management databases.

Monitor and share nonprofit communications and philanthropic trends periodically with team.

Carry out any additional assignments required to fulfill the mission of Access Opportunity.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required with at least 2 years of related experience.

Strong storyteller; able to make emotional connections to mission and communicate impact and results in a compelling fashion.

Excellent verbal and written skills. A writing sample will be required with your application.

Self-direction and high degree of organization; able to set clear targets and achieve results.

Demonstrated high proficiency and interest in key technologies including, but not limited to, Google, Mac, Adobe, and Microsoft products; databases; website builders; marketing platforms for digital communications.

Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences.

Excellent people skills and positive, flexible attitude.

Committed to developing and working within a collaborative environment; works well with others to listen, solve problems and achieve common goals.

This role is full-time and includes occasional evenings and weekends.
