A LETTER TO OUR DONORS
To all of you who have believed in our mission and supported our students – thank you for making an impact on Colorado. You have volunteered your time, shared your ideas, and donated your money to make sure that students with the desire to pursue higher education and a meaningful career have a chance to make their dreams come true.
Due to the unknowns surrounding COVID, we will not be hosting our annual Raise a Class event in the traditional sense this year, but we look forward to connecting with each of you.
Access Opportunity students and their families have been hit especially hard by the pandemic, but our student-facing staff are ensuring that our community is well cared for through:
Increased one-on-one counseling
Virtual group workshops to build comradery
Weekly virtual support groups on “Managing Stress and Anxiety”
Continued partnering with CU on social and emotional learning
Hiring a full-time social worker
Introduction of emergency grants for students due to job loss and other economic hardships due to COVID-19
Each of you have played a part in making this student support possible.
Despite the unprecedented challenges, our students’ resilience and fortitude have led them closer to their college and career goals. Join us as we celebrate all that has been good about the past year and please enjoy our first digitally produced Annual Report.
We hope you will continue to invest in the power of education to transform students, families, and communities. You are changing lives.
With sincere gratitude,
The Access Opportunity Team
